In the heart of Woking, a story of craftsmanship and durability continues to unfold at the Woking Leisure Centre. This facility, beloved by the community, is more than just a place for recreation; it’s a showcase of enduring quality, thanks in part to the expert work of Adam Willmott and the exceptional products of ARDEX.

A Journey Back in Time

Recently, Adam Willmott, Head of Business Development at ARDEX returned to the leisure centre. His visit was to assess some remedial work needed on some stairwells, but it also served as a nostalgic journey back to a pivotal point in his career.

It was in 1992 when Adam, as a young 26 year-old, then working with Ceramic Tiles Ipswich (Contracts) Ltd, meticulously tiled the centre’s pool—a project that, more than 30 years later, still stands as a testament the quality of his work and the ARDEX products he used.

The ARDEX Advantage

The longevity of the pool’s stunning appearance is a testament to the superior quality of ARDEX products used during its construction. Adam and the team at CTI, used ARDEX X7 with the E90 additive, renowned for its flexibility and bond strength. The pool was grouted with ARDIPOX, an ARDEX epoxy grout system designed for heavy-duty applications.

These products have long been celebrated for their durability and ability to withstand the test of time, even under constant exposure to water and chemicals.

Pool tiles used were manufactured by Buchtal and supplied through a predecessor company to Spectile – who ARDEX still work closely with today.

Lasting Legacy

The fact that the pool retains its original quality and functionality over three decades later speaks volumes about the reliability and excellence of ARDEX systems.

It serves as a reminder of the importance of using high-quality and high-performing materials and skilled professionals.
