Specification writing, on-site support, and high performance ARDEX products saw the refurbishment completed in a tight time frame, ready for the Ryder Cup

For the first time since 1973, and for only the second in history, The Ryder Cup returned to the home of golf in Scotland. In September 2014 the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire held one of the greatest tournaments in golf. Set within 850 acres of Perthshire countryside, the five star Gleneagles Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort is home to three championship golf courses, a sparkling, award-winning spa and an exhilarating array of outdoor activities.

Following the selection of ARDEX to provide a specification for both the renovation of the existing indoor swimming pool and outside hot tub, Andrew Reid, National Business Development Manager at ARDEX UK, said “The existing luxury spa resort underwent a £5 million refurbishment programme in anticipation of the arrival of the Ryder Cup. Furthermore, when tiling awkward areas or cutting around fixtures and fittings, the extended open time of ARDEX X 77 helps to achieve the perfect finish. ARDEX EG 8 Cement/Epoxy Hybrid Tile Grout combines the chemical resistance of epoxy grouts, with the application properties of cement based grouts, and its unique properties make it ideal for use in swimming pools and other areas where chemical resistance and hygienic joints are required.
